For the past 30 years, Oregon Parks Forever has been committed to enhancing and preserving the special places that make Oregon so extraordinary. Thanks to generous supporters like you, we’ve been able to fund educational programs, improve park infrastructure, support wildfire recovery efforts, and expand access to outdoor experiences across our state.
As we celebrate this important milestone, we reflect on all that we’ve accomplished and look forward to providing even more. We have been able to fund the planting of more than 850,000 trees; we have developed more than 30 Track Trails — nature treasure hunts for families — toward our goal of 100 across Oregon; we have helped David’s Chair grow the number of available electric all-terrain Track Chairs from 4 chairs, seven years ago to 29 today; we have funded school field trips for many hundreds of children through our Ticket2Ride program; and we have funded the repair and improvement at a number of fire damaged parks. From the scenic coastlines to the high desert in Central and Eastern Oregon, we were pleased to help, knowing that you treasure our public lands.
Some of our past successes include: the restoration of Oregon’s historic lighthouses, restoration of Vista House at Crown Point, the establishment of the Kam Wah Chung Museum, pioneered yurts in campgrounds, constructed Hiker/Biker campsites along the Oregon Coast, and funded 10 electric Track-chairs on the Coast providing more access to those with mobility limitations, among many other projects across the state.
From the scenic coastlines to the high desert, our public lands are treasured by millions each year. With your help, Oregon Parks Forever is currently working on:
- Planting over 850,000 trees in wildfire-damaged parks, with a goal of replacing one million trees;
- Funding trail improvements and accessibility upgrades statewide;
- Providing transportation to bring outdoor education to underserved communities;
- Funding the expansion of TRACK Trails – family-oriented nature treasure hunt adventures;
- Led volunteer restoration and conservation projects in our parks.
