First Wildfire Tree Replacement Funds Allocated to plant 153,000 seedlings

The first funds from our Wildfire Tree replacement fund have been allocated to the request from the Oregon Parks & Recreation Department to help replace trees burned in State Parks by last summer’s extraordinary wildfires.

With the help of a $50,000 matching challenge grant from Bass Pro Shops/Cabela’s Outdoor Fund, we were able to provide funding for planting 76,000 Ponderosa Pine seedlings to replace trees burned in 380 of the 580 acres of Collier State Park and Logging Museum.

We were also able to fund the replanting of 25,000 seedlings at Silver Falls State Park, 25,000 seedlings at Ben & Kay Dorris State Recreation Area (along the McKenzie River), 2,000 seedlings at North Santiam State Park, and provide funds for the planting of another 25,000 seedlings in other parks with smaller amounts of damage.

These seedlings have been ordered and will be planted in the Fall of 2022.

Make a donation to the wildfire fund. Every dollar plants a tree!
