Jefferson Public Radio held a call-in show on February 2nd on their Jefferson Exchange segment, about the opportunities and challenges of replanting trees burned by this summer’s wildfires. I was joined by foresters from the US Forest Service, the Oregon Department of Forestry and the Oregon Parks & Recreation Department. It was an interesting discussion of the challenges of finding appropriate seeds, the techniques for planting, the shortage of planting labor and much more.
