Invitation to Ribbon Cutting TRACK Trails in Timber Park

A Ribbon Cutting to open the new Timber Park Trail will be on April, Saturday, April 20th, from 10 a.m. to noon. We’ll have remarks and a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. It’s going to be fun! If you’re interested in attending or helping spread the word,

The Timber Park TRACK Trail is a 0.25-mile path (0.33 loop) to the west with an optional 1.25-mile trail to the east along the lakeshore. Both trails feature riparian, field, and forest habitats with excellent views of Estacada Lake. The path skirts the ball fields and provides views of PGE’s River Mill Dam and Powerhouse. River Mill is the last in a series of reservoirs and dams along the Clackamas River and generates enough electricity to power over 10,000 homes.

For a longer walk, stroll the perimeter of the disc golf course. It’s tournament-quality and the oldest 18+ hole course in Oregon!

TRACK Trails are a type of environmental scavenger hunt for young children and their families to get unplugged and active outdoors, offering a series of self-guided activities that turn an ordinary hike into a fun-filled, discovery-packed adventure. Each trail will have four brochures available that help kids learn about topics such as birds, trees, flowers, ferns, and animal tracks. to earn a series of prizes designed to make their next outdoor adventure even more fun and meaningful. Since the program’s inception, children have completed more than 1 million TRACK Trail adventures.

Oregon Parks Forever has set a goal of funding 50 TRACK Trails across the state of Oregon.
