With the pandemic forcing many schools to close classrooms and move to distance learning, kids missed out on outdoor experiences such as field trips funded by Oregon Parks Forever’s Ticket2Ride program. Challenges were further complicated by closures of parks across the state.
Since the kids were not able to get to the parks, Oregon Parks Forever decided to bring the parks to the kids! We funded virtual field trips for students to be able to experience the outdoors and learn about things like invasive species, habitat connections, and river ecosystems in Oregon’s parks and natural areas.
